About Goldendoodles
Intelligent, Affectionate Companions For The Whole Family
Why Goldendoodles Make Ideal Family Companions
Goldendoodles get their gentle nature, friendliness and loyalty from the Golden Retriever side, making them a wonderful option for families with young children. The Poodle brings hypoallergenic qualities, intelligence, ease of training, fun loving spirit and goofiness.
They are naturally inclined to be careful with infants and toddlers and will be patient companions for children as they grow up. They are extremely affectionate dogs, they love to socialize and rarely meet a human or fellow animal they don’t like, even smaller dogs and cats.
Instead of wanting to chase, Goldendoodles are laid-back and almost bashful. Goldendoodles can be active and playful, or they can hang out on the couch belly up beside you.
We prioritize health, temperament, and beauty to elevate the Goldendoodle breed. Our puppies consistently earn praise from trainers, groomers, and veterinarians.
Decoding Goldendoodle Generations
This chart explains the recognised generations with GANA.
“F” refers to “filial”; Filial generations refers to the offspring resulting from cross breeding different purebred breeds of parents. “B” refers to Backcrossing to either Golden Retriever or Poodle.
CJM Puppies only backcrosses to a Poodle to ensure the highest chance of non shedding. CJM Puppies works hard to ensure we are pairing parents for the best potential for non shedding in our litters.
F1 Generation
50 % Golden Retriever & 50 % Poodle.
This generation will have wavy coats from shaggy to loose curls and will be fully finished with the Teddy Bear face.
This generation has the highest chance of some shedding. Typically there is substantially less than the Golden Retriever.
F1B Generation
25 % Golden Retriever & 75 % Poodle
.
This generation is known as one of the higher chances of non shedding, they will have a mixture of wavy and curly coats. Their coats are very predictable and will be fully finished with the Teddy Bear Face.
There is still a chance to have a slight shedding F1B puppy as 25% of the litter will carry the same traits as the F1 Goldendoodle. F1B’s crossed back to a poodle are very predictably hypoallergenic.
Multigenerational Goldendoodles
Can be any percentage of Golden Retriever or Poodle.
These Goldendoodles have become quite popular among GANA breeders for their more predictable traits. I have selected puppies from our litters, DNA tested their traits with PawPrint Genetics to select the best chances in our DNA Profiles for the Poodle finishing traits.
For example Toby, who is a wavy coat F1B male carries the same genetics as our poodles to ensure his puppies have the highest chance of non shedding and still be able to breed wavy or curly coats with predictability of non shedding.
It is a myth that a curly coat has more chances of non shedding than a wavy coat. It is all about the DNA and if they got it from the retriever or the poodle!
Our Goldendoodle Sizes
CJM Puppies breeds Standard, Medium and Miniature Goldendoodles. Height at withers is at the top of the shoulder!
- Standard Goldendoodle: Height is over 21” at withers and typically 51 pounds and up
- Medium Goldendoodle: Height over 17” at withers and under 21” and typically 36-50 pounds
- Miniature Goldendoodle: Height over 14” at withers and under 17” and typically 26-35 Pounds
At CJM Puppies, we do our best to predict adult size when puppies are selected at 8 weeks. Our estimates are based on parents’ adult size, parents size at 8 weeks and puppies size at 8 weeks.
Final size is determined at adulthood and we are making an educated estimate on their adult size. There is a possibility the puppy may grow bigger or be smaller than estimated.
Goldendoodle Colors and Coat Types
Goldendoodles come in various colors due to Poodle genetics. CJM Puppies focuses on popular colors: cream, golden, apricot, red, parti, and white abstract spotting on chests and faces.
Coat types include curly (+/+), wavy (+/-), and straight (-/-), verified by genetic testing. This allows us to predict potential coat types in litters. Curly coats range from loose to tight poodle curls, while wavy coats can be shaggy to loosely curly. Straight coats occur only when pairing two genetically wavy coat parents.
CJM Puppies currently breeds fully finished wavy and curly coat Goldendoodles, with plans for straight coats in the future.
Note: Coat curliness doesn’t determine shedding; it’s based on inherited DNA from either the retriever or poodle.
Adult Goldendoodle Coats
Puppy coats can change as they mature, becoming curlier and potentially darker or lighter.
Golden Retrievers typically darken, while Poodles may lighten or darken due to fading or rufus genes, which can’t be predicted by current DNA tests.
Red Poodles may fade to apricot, and black to silver. We strive to predict final colors accurately, but surprises can occur.
What our Customers are Saying About Us!
Bailey is the sweetest girl! She is great. She really has a sweet disposition and loves everyone, kids and dogs. She settles down well, and is content to let the kids run around after saying hi. She certainly has the zoomies and is full of beans but settles well and I am able to work during the day.
She is a calm dog and lots have commented on that as she is really happy. She is looong. She has a long body and long legs. Her coat is soft and wavy and rarely mats (yay). Katie says she is fun to play with and given her long legs just walks onto Katie’s bed to snuggle.
"I've adopted a puppy from CJM early 2022 and have been nothing but impressed throughout the whole process. From daily videos of the litter and an amazing socialization program to a full DNA testing for both parents.
Corine has followed up a few times to make sure everything is going well after the fact. The temperament of the puppy I got has been fantastic, and from speaking to friends who have adopted puppies elsewhere, the extra care and attention at CJM puppies with socialization and setting up the litter for their forever homes has not gone unnoticed.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend CJM to any friends or family looking for a puppy."
"Lucy loves her walks. She is a very social pup. She seems to get along with every dog she meets.
She is the biggest cuddler. Everytime I sit on the couch she can not wait to come and cuddle up with me. She definitely loves our couch , and strongly dislikes her dog bed but takes up more than half the couch when lying down!
She is so good with the kids, and we couldn’t ask for a better dog to bring home to them." looking for a puppy."
"From day one, Louie has been well-adjusted, full of personality, and a very good boy - a true testament to the care and attention he received from the breeder.
I highly recommend CJM Puppies to anyone looking for a reputable breeder.
Corine goes to great lengths to ensure that her dogs receive the best possible development and exposure. Her program, which includes extensive genetic testing, is a testament to her dedication to breeding healthy, happy puppies.
Thank you, CJM Puppies, for bringing such joy into our life with Louie"
"Hey Corine. I hope you are doing well. I wanted to send you an update of Stanley. He’s almost 7 months old and is the most amazing dog ever.
He’s incredibly smart, so snuggly and lovely. He has truly completed our family. Here’s a picture I took of him today.
Thank you, CJM Puppies, for bringing such joy into our life with Louie"
“Hi Corine! Just wanted to send you a pic of Pippi! We took her for her first hike to the Lake Agnes Tea House yesterday. It was her first time seeing snow and she was in heaven .
She is the most wonderful dog, we are so happy to have her as a member of our family. She is ridiculously smart, she’s calm and energetic at the same time, she loves people, wags her tail non stop, and is a little bit timid with other dogs at this point.
Thank you so much for putting in so much effort with the litter, for being so caring, loving, and attentive. Pippi had the best start possible because of you and your family. We are so grateful!”
"Naya has been the perfect addition to our family. We love how much she loves snow, how playful and how cuddly she is. She is a very quick learner and has caught onto walking on the leash amazingly.
Teann D. Dog: NayaShe is gentle with our two young daughters and does not nip. We love her so much! People are always amazed at her young age because she is so well behaved. Her fur has been so great to manage.
We groom her every 4 -6 weeks and our groomer says she’s the best puppy she’s ever worked with!"
